The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (“WAPCo”), owner and operator of the West African Gas Pipeline (“WAGP”) has not suspended gas transportation services on behalf of Ghana National Petroleum Company (“GNPC”).
WAPCo at 05:00 hours on July 1st, 2023, suspended gas transportation on behalf of GNPC due to the GNPC’s failure to fully pay for services received. That same day, WAPCo resumed limited gas transportation services on behalf of GNPC, after it reached another agreement with the GNPC under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy. The limited gas transportation allows GNPC to nominate up to its contractual firm volume of gas for WAPCo to transport to GNPC customers in Tema.
WAPCo values its relationship with GNPC and looks forward to a prompt and sustainable resolution of the current situation.
