Community Development Programme
In 2006, WAPCo rolled out its Community Development Programme (CDP). The programme was to promote development of host communities. It identified critical needs and high yielding community investment strategies to meet the infrastructure development gaps in the communities.
The Community Development Programme covers:
Health
We built and equipped clinics to support host communities that had inadequate health facilities.
Education
We supported local education through building and furnishing school blocks.
Water and Sanitation
We supported local authorities' efforts in improving water and sanitation conditions in our host communities.
Economic Empowerment
We provided infrastructure to support economic activities in host communities.
