WAPCo’s Managing Director, Ms. Michelle Burkett has assured Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the company’s readiness to work with the agency to implement WAPCo’s approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP). 

Speaking at a workshop on the requirements of the company’s Environmental Management Plan, Michelle said WAPCo will partner the EPA to achieve the EMP commitments and will operate within the expected guidelines. WAPCo will count on the EPA’s support through the process. WAPCo already undertakes environmentally friendly practices and has as a major goal reducing its carbon footprints among others. 

The workshop was for WAPCo’s senior, middle and supervisory management and a regulatory requirement. Present were EPA’s Acting Director, Accra East, Ms. Irene Opoku, Principal Programme Officer, Mr. Kwabena Biritwum, Senior Programme Officer, Larry Kotoe, and Assistant Programme Officer, Ms. Nana Yaa Appiah.
