WAPCo’s General Manager Corporate Affairs, Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku has visited the Western Region’s Ghana Journalists’ Association’s (GJA) Press Center in Takoradi.
The visit aligns with WAPCo’s efforts to build and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with its key stakeholders. The visit to the Press Center was also to enable Dr. Doku to appreciate ongoing refurbishment works at the center.
The Executives of the Western Region’s Ghana Journalists’ Association warmly received Dr. Doku and gave him an update of the ongoing refurbishment works. Dr. Doku said it was important for the media to have a conducive environment to practice their profession and WAPCo is willing to support achieve this goal. “We now have a good picture in our mind and will not be imagining things if your request should come in. So, we look forward to the little we can do to see this place put to shape,” he said.
The Western Region GJA Chairman, Desmond Cudjoe, said the Association was delighted about the WAPCo visit. He said companies such as Volta River Authority, Electricity Company of Ghana and others, as well as some individuals including the Members of Parliament (MP) for both Tarkwa and Ellembelle, George Mireku Duker and Emmanuel Armah Buah respectively have supported the refurbishment efforts. He appealed to WAPCo to support provide some of the items required to complete the refurbishment of the facility. Dr. Doku assured that WAPCo is willing to support the Western Region GJA’s effort to provide a conducive environment for its members.
WAPCo enjoys a cordial working relationship with the Western Region Ghana Journalists’ Association and has supported them with training and some sponsorship in the past.
