As part of its routine maintenance programme, the West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) will conduct scheduled Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) tests at its facilities in Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria between January 18th and 31st, 2026.

These tests are mandated under the West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAGPA) regulations and planned collaboratively with key stakeholders in the four countries. The tests are aligned with industry’s best practices to safeguard the integrity, safety, and reliability of our gas transportation infrastructure.

Each test is scheduled to last for a maximum duration of nine (9) hours, and WAPCo has ensured that all relevant stakeholders have been informed in advance and the schedule has been shared with them to ensure minimal disruption in their operations.
