The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has awarded scholarships to sixty-nine students studying at thirteen tertiary institutions in Ghana, under its programme to support brilliant but needy students in host communities.

The sixty-nine students, made up of 43 males and 26 females were selected based on academic excellence achieved during their first year of studies in these institutions.
Their courses include Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Building Technology, Education, Midwifery, and Medicine and Surgery.

WAPCo have over the years supported students who have all graduated after the successful completion of their courses and have become a source of motivation for others within their communities.

WAPCo is proud of these students, and we are happy to provide the necessary support for them to pursue their dreams of further education or training, says Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku, WAPCo General Manager, Corporate Affairs. We wish them great success in their studies and look forward to them becoming change agents in their communities.

WAPCo has seven host communities in Ghana, two in the Greater Accra Region and five in the Western Region. WAPCo from its inception identified communities located within a two-kilometer radius of our on-shore facilities as host communities and we continue to partner these communities to create shared value.
