The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, on Friday February 21st, 2025, paid a working visit to the Tema R&M Station. The purpose of the visit was to obtain firsthand information on the progress of ongoing pigging and valve replacement maintenance activities.

Present at the Tema R&M Station to welcome the Minister and his team was WAPCo leadership led by the MD. Others present included the General Managers, Corporate Affairs and Operations and Maintenance, the Operations & Maintenance Superintendent (Western Area), Deputy Manager, Asset Integrity, and the Operations Coordinator, Tema R&M Station.

The Minister upon arrival received a brief site induction, followed by a presentation on the status of the offshore pipeline cleaning and inspection and the valve replacement projects. The Minister and his team were also taken on a site tour of the facility.

WAPCo’s MD acknowledged the energy ministry’s active involvement and role as a key stakeholder in the success of WAPCo’s operations and commended the strong collaboration between WAPCo and the ministry. She expressed the company’s gratitude to the energy ministry for its ongoing support for WAPCo.

Michelle also commended the Volta River Authority (VRA) and GRIDCo for their responsiveness and consistent support throughout this period, recognizing their crucial roles in ensuring smooth operational progress of the maintenance activities.

In his remarks, John Jinapor commended WAPCo for the excellent work done so far and expressed optimism for the successful completion of the ongoing projects. He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to deepening the partnership with WAPCo to enhance Ghana’s energy infrastructure and security.
