Ajogbo Grammar School Triumphs at the 9th WAPCo Annual Quiz Competition

The 9th Edition of the WAPCo Annual Quiz Competition for Public Secondary Schools in Ogun State has just wrapped up with an electrifying finish! This year’s event, inspired by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, saw 10 schools compete in Mathematics, Sciences, and Current Affairs.

Congratulations to Ajogbo Grammar School for clinching the champion’s title and ending Iganmode Grammar School’s two-year winning streak! Shoutout as well to Maale Comprehensive High School and Iganmode Grammar School for rounding out the top three.

This annual quiz challenges students to excel academically, think critically, and build their confidence, giving public school students a chance to shine alongside their private school peers. Plus, winners get WAPCo support with university expenses.

Special thanks to all the schools for participating. Deputy Manager, External Relations, Temitope Sodeinde announced WAPCo’s plans to expand the competition statewide in 2026, and make it more robust and inclusive.

Nothing beats hearing from the champions themselves! Mrs. Somiolu, Principal of Ajogbo Grammar School, shared: “We are so happy with WAPCo. You spurred us to bring out the best in our students. We organised daily JET lessons because we had a target to emerge first and now we’ve achieved it!”
